Asphalt Overlay & Resurfacing
An overlay, or resurfacing as it’s sometimes referred to, can be a cost effective [commercial asphalt overlay & resurfacing] option to complete removal and replacement of an existing parking lot. This is especially true in the case of a parking lot that has not completely failed. Overlaying a parking lot can be very appealing when it comes to cost as it can be anywhere from 50% to 70% less expensive than a complete removal and replacement.

Overlay Procedure
1. Clean the existing asphalt with air blowers and wire brooms as needed.
2. Apply tack oil (asphalt glue) the surface to bond the new asphalt to the existing asphalt.
3. Overlay the parking lot with new hot asphalt mix approximately 2″ to 2 1/2″ compacted thickness.
4. Re-stripe existing layout with white or yellow paint and /or blue and white handicap emblems
Please note: There may be some exceptions to the asphalt overlay procedure as listed below. If there are any failed areas, (pot holes, alligated areas, low areas, etc.) they should be repaired prior to installing the asphalt to minimize reflective cracking and asphalt failure. You may need to remove and replace or mill asphalt next to sidewalks, handicap ramps, curb with gutter and entry ways prior to paving for elevation changes so there are no lips (bumps) which can cause drainage issues and tripping hazards

New Driveways
We provide quality construction of new driveways. Whether it is a commercial project or residential, no job is too large or small for All State Paving.
New Driveway Procedure
1. Excavate and fine grade existing road base/soil for proper water drainage.
2. Roll and compact sub-grade prior to laying the new asphalt driveway.
3. Sterilize the area with a weed inhibitor to minimize vegetation growth.
4. Install new hot asphalt mix, roll and compact to an average depth of 2 inches.
5. New asphalt driveway to a match any existing elevations of asphalt or concrete areas as applicable.
6. Shoulder the new asphalt edges with existing soil/rock.
Please note: There may be some exceptions to the New Driveway Procedure as listed below.
1. If the driveway to be paved has loose gravel/rock, this must be removed and either place on site or hauled away and discarded.
2. If there are weeds and grass in the driveway to be paved, they should be sterilized with a product like roundup at least 1 week prior before any site work is done.
3. If the sub-grade is unstable (soft/clay) in the area to be paved, the area will need to be excavated, the soil hauled away and discarded, new road base installed and then rolled and compacted prior to paving the driveway.

1. Saw cut/jackhammer if needed at any existing asphalt/concrete seams.
2. Excavate the failed asphalt out and dispose.
3. Re-grade for proper drainage as needed and re-compact existing soil/road base.
4. Clean any existing asphalt/concrete edges and apply tack oil (glue) them to bond the new asphalt to the existing pavement.
5. Then lay new hot asphalt mix, roll and compact.
6. Shoulder the new asphalt edges with existing soil/rock.
